Hidden Gems: Linden Postcard

So Linden Postcard Show has been running since 1991, this year being the 21st annual Linden Postcard Show. Every year hundreds of small format contemporary artworks by artists from all over Australia are shows in a salon style hanging at the Linden Centre for Contemporary Arts.

Since the Linden Postcard Show has been running for so long it is not a Hidden Gem, however amongst the hundreds of small artworks they have up, you can sometimes find some amazing artworks(Hidden Gems).  There are even artworks selling for $1, so collectors go on the hunt for the great bargains. Unfortunately all the works I wanted was already sold out.

For Artists, this is a cheap and easy way to show and sell your artwork as well as having a chance to win up to $5000 award money.

This year’s winner was Dan Price The Architecture of Happiness graphite on paper. I hunted it down and found myself amazed by this little beauty.

EXHIBITION DATES: Saturday, 4 February 2012 – Saturday, 17 March 2012

LOCATION: Linden Centre for Contemporary Arts, 26 Acland Street,St Kilda 3182
